Government Relations

  • Parliament BuildingsOne of the strategic priorities of the CCHRA is federal government relations. Our goal is to establish strong federal governmental relationships so that we can effectively and positively influence the design and implementation of employment and labour laws and regulations in Canada that impact HR professionals. We seek to advise the government of Canada on issues from the perspective of the HR practitioner representing the viewpoint of our member HR Associations and providing insight to create workable, practical policies and legislation.

The CCHRA has established a Government Relations Committee to work on federal government relations matters. The committee includes representatives from across Canada to reflect the national interests of the HR profession. The committee is a national voice for the HR profession on federal government policy and legislative matters. It identifies issues of national concern that are aligned with the CCHRA's strategic plan and seeks to advise, influence and affect policy and legislative change, as well as identify potential partnership opportunities that benefit the CCHRA and its member associations. The committee also monitors the federal government’s agenda on HR issues and keeps its members apprised of activities and initiatives.
